Roosevelt Junior Academy (RJA) introduces VWO students to the practical aspects of university education in general and to Roosevelt Academy in particular. RJA is for motivated students who start the program in VWO 5 or VWO 6.
Roosevelt Junior Academy Days
The Roosevelt Junior Academy consists of two Junior Academy Days. During this Day three master classes on one specific theme will be taught, each by faculty members from the three main academic departments at Roosevelt Academy: Science, Social Science, and Arts & Humanities. Each master class will take one hour.
As our aim is to give RJA students an idea of what Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) is all about, you will need to follow all three master classes during the Junior Academy Day. Unlike most other academic programs, Liberal Arts and Sciences students look at various aspects of one specific theme rather than at just one.
During the master classes you will learn more of Roosevelt Academy’s participatory style of education. This involves going through general academic principles and discussing examples. Your contributions will make classes very interactive, and you will get a chance to use English all the time. Roosevelt Academy students will be there to assist you during the master classes.
On successful completion of two Junior Academy Days you will receive an RA Certificate, giving you an important advantage when applying to Roosevelt Academy or to other selective universities.
Applications for the second round of Junior Academy in Spring 2012 are now open! The masterclasses will be taking place on March 7th and April 18th. Please send an e-mail to if you wish to apply.
